Psychotherapy / Counselling Plymouth
Find a therapist offering Psychotherapy/Counselling in Plymouth.
What is Counselling?
Our therapists offering psychotherapy/counselling in Plymouth, allow you a safe and confidential space to help you delve into your thoughts and feelings/problems by working with you to guide you towards a pathway which could help resolve any emotional distress you may be experiencing. Subjects discussed at your counselling sessions will vary, both depending on the help you require and the approach of the individual therapist.
Various discussions could take place, including those around your childhood; relationships; feelings, emotions or thoughts; behaviour; your past; present life events, or situations you may find difficult to handle etc. This will assist in helping you to make sense of your world and explore resolutions. Most sessions will be 50-60 minutes in duration, with the number of sessions and the frequency being agreed between you and your therapist. Dragonfly Well-Being Centre is a new venture, so more therapists will be available soon.

I’m Kim, a fully qualified Integrative counsellor working both online and face to face in Plymouth.
I work with a range of people experiencing difficulty in life and specialise in working with women impacted by trauma. I also work with people that have received a formal mental health diagnosis, though diagnosis isn’t something I focus on in our work together. I often find it useful to zoom in and out – so we might consider your thoughts, feelings, physical responses, behaviours, but we may also consider your relationships with others as well as the wider social context of your life. I’m interested in what’s happening both inside and outside of yourself as a whole person.

Hiya, I’d like to introduce myself and a little about the counselling I provide.
I understand that choosing a therapist can be daunting, especially when you may be feeling confused, depressed, anxious or at a low point. Or maybe you’re thinking how can anyone help, or understand if you’ve had no experience of working with a counsellor, or previous counselling wasn’t what you were expecting or ready to continue? I understand this can be difficult.
I am easy to talk to, friendly and provide a warm and confidential space for reflection; allowing you to explore your difficulties.
Available: Please contact Collette direct for availability. Saturday Morning Clinic also available.
I have almost 20 years’ experience in Devon and Cornwall of developing my own potential, and helping others to seek and meet theirs. After starting my own journey as a client, my knowledge, beliefs and philosophy towards therapy is that we are always affected and influenced by our early environments and that the mindset, attitudes, beliefs, and habits we develop at this point, can travel with us into our adulthoods, acting as ‘unconscious drivers’ that are behind the wheel of a car that then becomes our lives.
Available: Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays
As an integrative counsellor, I take into account you as an individual and your circumstances, and blend elements of different approaches to help you explore your problems. My blend includes various humanistic elements such as Person-centred, Gestalt, Internal Family Systems, Transactional Analysis, Narrative Therapy, Mindfulness, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and CBT.

‘Hi, my name is Sami, thank you for vising my page. I am an integrative counsellor and a registered member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).
I feel passionately about the potential that counselling has to change lives and to help clients live in a way that is meaningful and fulfilling for them. Through my own experience with counselling, I know there is no single path when it comes to mental health and well-being – my style of counselling draws on many different theories, which enables me to best support the client as their needs and wants shift as therapy progresses. It also means I am able to draw from the experience and expertise of many theorists and therapists to best support you as a client.
