Therapist Biography
Hi, I’m Iryna – BACP-registered person-centred counsellor with a warm and down-to-earth approach. I’ve been working with young people at a local charity since 2017, and now expanding my practice to work with adults as well.
Originally from Ukraine, I’ve been living in the UK for over a decade, so I understand the challenges that come with change and adapting to new experiences. My approach to counselling is based on the belief that change happens gradually, in a way that feels natural and manageable and that everyone has the capacity for change given the right support.
Alongside talking therapy, I sometimes use creative tools like metaphorical associative cards, which can help bring new insights to things that feel difficult to express. I’m also trained in the REWIND technique for trauma, which is a gentle way of working with distressing memories.
Whether you are struggling with life transitions, stress, anxiety, grief or simply seeking a deeper understanding of yourself – I can walk alongside you in your journey.
As a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), I follow professional standards and ethical guidelines to ensure a safe, confidential, and supportive environment.
Above all, I believe that you are the expert on your own life. My role is to offer a non judgmental and accepting space where you can make sense of things at your own pace. If you’d like to find out more or have a chat about working together, feel free to get in touch.
I offer both in-person and online sessions.
I speak English, Ukrainian and Russian, so if your first language is one of those – I will be happy to adapt.
