I’m Kim, a fully qualified Integrative counsellor working both online and face to face in Plymouth.
I work with a range of people experiencing difficulty in life and specialise in working with women impacted by trauma. I also work with people that have received a formal mental health diagnosis, though diagnosis isn’t something I focus on in our work together. I often find it useful to zoom in and out – so we might consider your thoughts, feelings, physical responses, behaviours, but we may also consider your relationships with others as well as the wider social context of your life. I’m interested in what’s happening both inside and outside of yourself as a whole person.
As a relational counsellor, I tend to work long term to give space to building a safe relationship that feels trusting enough to explore whatever feels important. Often, the therapeutic relationship can be useful to test out new ways of relating as well as exploring old patterns that may no longer be helpful for you.
I’ve been working in private practice for 3 years as well as having experience working with organisations such as Devon Mind, The Samaritans, The Advocacy People, and the Sunflower Women’s centre.
