Systemic Family Work Plymouth

What is Systemic Family Work?
Children can feel overwhelmed with ‘big’ feelings, leaving the child or young person to respond in the “flight, fight or freeze” response. These feelings therefore leave a child feeling ‘out of control/flipping their lid’ and a parent seeing their child struggling with upsetting or ‘bad’ behaviour. Systemic family work will support you and your family to help understand these feelings, but also to help with strategies using varied theoretical models, helping your child to fully understand themselves.
My role is to support the family dynamic through systemic work of the child’s needs. Sometimes this can include an understanding of the brain and how together we can help a child or young person to reach their best potential. Dragonfly Well-Being Centre is a new venture, so we will be adding more therapists offering systemic family work in Plymouth in the near future.
